Nestled in a near-secret spot off of Forest Avenue, Roots the Beauty Underground is owned and operated by Laguna native and beauty/cosmetics industry veteran Laura Linsenmayer.
From the moment you enter this beautiful shop, you’ll sense Linsenmayer’s commitment to providing her community with non-toxic cosmetics and organic beauty alternatives, delivered with a healthy dose of common sense and customization. In fact, Roots’ specially trained staff takes the time and care to accurately diagnose each client’s individual needs and to recommend organic, natural products to address them. While we were there, a client was seated at the beauty bar for her consultation, going through each and every product in her existing beauty routine and getting expert advice on how to “clean-up” her regimen with non-toxic options. We can’t wait to do the same! For starters, we indulged in some of our favorite products for a healthy OC glow, including Coola organic suncare, Tata Harper skincare, and the Japanese skin exfoliation sensation, Natural Aqua Gel Cure (thanks to a recommendation from top OC fashion stylist, Leslie Christen). We’re thrilled that a non-toxic cosmetics shop for men, women and children has taken “root” in Orange County!
